Detailed Lesson in Kindergarten

      I.                Objectives: At the end of the lesson,75% of the pupils should be able to:
a.    To know how to add numbers.
b.    Solve single digit number; and
c.    Appreciate the importance of addition to our life.

    II.                Subject Matter: Addition.
Reference:

Materials: Marbles, Popsicle stick, Printed words, Pencil and crayons.
   III.                Procedure

A.   Preparatory Activities:
Let’s stand up for the prayer                (Kids stand and recite the prayer.)
Good morning class!                             Good morning teacher!
How are you this morning?                  We’re good!
                                                                  How about you?
I’m good too.

Okay, everybody sit down now.
Who’s absent this morning?
Now class! Do you still remember
our classroom rule?                               Yes teacher

Okay first classroom rule                      sit down properly.

Second classroom rule                         raise your hand if you want to answer.
Third classroom rule                              do not talk to your seatmate.

Okay good!


B.   Motivation
Class let’s count numbers 1 to 20.                 (The kids counts the number 1 to 20.)
C.   Developmental Activities
Presentation:
   Teacher presents marbles and
    Popsicle sticks.

                    Okay class do you know  what
am I holding right now?                                      Yes teacher it’s a marble and a colored stick.
Now class ! How many marbles
can you see in my hand?                                   Two teacher

Okay if I add 1 how many
Marbles are altogether?                                      Three marbles teacher.

Okay how about this 2 marbles
plus 2 marbles is equal to?                                 4 marbles teacher

Okay class this one 1 popsicle
stick plus another popsicle stick
 is equal to?                                                           2 popsicle stick teacher.

Next 4 popsicle stick plus another
1 popsicle stick is equal to?
(Call a student)                                                     4 popsicle stick plus 1 popsicle stick is equal to 5 popsicle stick.
Very Good!

How about this 5 popsicle stick plus
another 5 popsicle stick is equal to?                 10 teacher

Teacher call a student to go to the
front 3 boys and 3 girls.

Class how many boys are standing
in the front?                                                           3 boys teacher

Okay how about the girls how many
are standing in front?                                          3 girls teacher


So class if we join them together
how many are there in all?                                 6 teacher

Okay Good!
There are 3 boys and 3 girls if we
Join them together they will be
equal to 6.

D.   Application
Group Activity
Teacher will group the class                                                                                into three groups.
  Class I have a box right here and
               you will pick inside it.                                           Okay teacher

   Inside the box there are three
              numbers 1, 2, 3 all pupils who
              pick number one join together
              and so as the 2 and 3.

   After grouping the teacher will give
             instruction in each group all
             members of the group will participate.
1.    3 marbles + 3 marbles is equal to
Then all groups will choose their
1st participant to answer the
problem first who can answer the
problem will get 1 point there are
10 problems in all.

1.    3 marbles + 3 marbles = 6
2.    2 marbles + 1 marbles = 3
3.    2 marbles + 2 marbles = 4
4.    1 marbles + 1 marbles = 2
5.    4 marbles + 1 marbles = 5
6.    5 marbles + 5 marbles = 10
7.    4 marbles + 4 marbles = 8
8.    6 marbles + 1 marbles = 7
9.    7 marbles + 2 marbles = 9
10. 2 marbles + 3 marbles = 5
           
      After they finish answering all
      problems the group that has highest
      point will be the winner and also the
       first place then other groups wil be
       the second place and the third placer.


E.   Generalization
Class, why do need to know to add?      
(Call a pupil)                                                 We need to add because it help us in our daily life                                                           
           
  IV.                Evaluation
Direction: Give the sum and put the answer inside the box.
